Driven by a fascination with everyday objects, their materiality, color, and inherent presence, Vanessa Luschmann explores the emotional narratives embedded within the things people leave behind. Drawing inspiration from the design and interiors of the past, her work reinterprets its visual language through a contemporary lens, giving it a timeless quality.
In these carefully constructed scenes, objects become more than functional artifacts: They emerge as protagonists. Detached from their owners yet marked by human presence, they carry traces of memory, routine, intimacy, and absence. Using the ability of inanimate things to express deeply human emotional states, the artist allows the material world to speak where people remain largely unseen.
Alternating between the techniques of painting, printmaking and sculptural works, she dedicates herself to both societal and personal themes, often combining vulnerability with humor.
